Atheist christmas

Yesterday,the 25th of December,or otherwise known by Vincent and Lola as the "imaginary carpenter's birthday day",I worked a 10hrs trip to Costa Rica and back to Chicago (made lots of money,as we get paid double time for working this silly holiday) and Vincent stayed home,played Halo for 6hours,played with the puddies and when I got home at 8pm,a wonderful cooked meal with wine was waiting for me.....

Life is good.

Bad Weather in Europe

So I was supposed to fly to Brussels today (Monday)....but Brussels airport ran out of deicing fluid (the fluid that all airplanes need,in order to take off in winter weather...) and closed down the airport until Wednesday morning....so my flight canceled tonight,which is nice for me!
I will be flying a quick trip to Mexico City instead tomorrow (I think I will stay away from Europe for a while...at least until the sun starts shining again!)

Relaxing Sunday

Vincent is taking care of his hangover he got at the Christmas party at The Duke on Saturday,and the puddies are just doing their usual relaxing thing!

Flew a quick trip to Costa Rica on Saturday...Unfortunately we only stayed for 45minutes,but it was worth it...

After having read the Sunday papers this morning (that my wonderful husband went and picked up at the store,in a blizzard!...see post below) I decided to let the boys play with them,and play they did!.....They loved it!

So today we are being blasted by an "Arctic" system,and the entire Chicago area is under a winter blizzard warning....

Near Death

So last night,Marcel,Petra and Sophietje came over for a drink,and we all had a lovely time.At around 630pm,Petra took Sophietje home,and Marcel,Vincent and I walked over (in a snow storm) to one of our favorite restaurants,Firefly.

We were having a wonderful time,drinking cocktails (well the boys were,I kept to red wine...) and having a lovely dinner.

Vincent and I had ordered the steak frites,and it was so good,and I was,as usual, eating like the little piggy that I am....when suddenly I had put a piece of steak in my mouth,that was waaaaaay too big for my little mouth/throat....and I started choking....

Now for those of you that have never choked on anything,I highly DO NOT recommend it...all I could think of,was : " this is a really stupid way to die,and Vincent is going to be a widower,because his wife choked on our favorite meal,the steak frites....."

Vincent immediately started to perform the Heimlich manoeuvre,but because silly me,I was panicking,the damn piece of meat would not bulge...until the wonderful waiter (who thank budha was also a nurse) told Vincent to stop,because I was still breathing,and he just told me to relax,which eventually helped,and I was able to dislodge the damn cow,but not after having spit up half of my meal......

Lovely.....

Anyway,it's Sunday now,and my throat still hurts,but at least I am alive....

Vincent and I are laying on the couch,drinking tea and reading....

Life is good.

Winter Wonder Land

Yes,I know that Europe is being blasted with snow,but Vincent and I woke up to this beautiful winter wonder land scene this morning....and it is still snowing....Beautiful...

Tonight Marcel is coming over,and we are going to have a wonderful dinner,hopefully at Firefly...
