Thanksgiving 2010

We were invited to Mohed and Susan (Pete's friends from The Duke) for Thanksgiving...It was amazing,wonderful food (yes,that is Vincent shucking oysters!) great company,good wine....overall a memorable and amazing Thanksgiving....

My underwear

My wonderful husband did laundry whilst I was flying....and I come home to my underwear neatly folded.....I did not even know you COULD fold underwear!.....I started to feel bad,because when I do Vincent's laundry,I just throw his underwear and socks mismatched in his drawer....

I do love my husband...he is a good man...

How many flight attendants does it take to.....

Set up the onboard wheelchair?!....I never laughed so much in my life...we were trying to set up the onboard wheelchair for a passenger to use,and it kept collapsing whenever someone tried to sit on it....we even had a pilot give it a try...until we finally figured out that the damn thing was broken!.....managed to get the passenger to a bathroom without the chair (we are good at working out those logistical problems!...)

Not really sure why I am getting all these nice rooms at our layovers suddenly!.....My favorite room in Amsterdam...the attic room....

Once in a while,whilst I am working,we end up staying in some really nice hotels...and YES...it is indeed VERY rare at this company that we do!....But I must say,I did enjoy my stay at The Fairmont the other day...soaking in a nice hot bubble bath,whilst watching tv.....

Chilam Balan

So last night,we had dinner with KJ and Pete at a Mexican tapas restaurant in Lakeview,called Chilam Balan.Although the company was wonderful and the food was good,the service was absolutely appalling...Before we had even ordered desert,we were told that we had to leave,because the restaurant was BYOB (bring your own bottle for the Dutchies!) and they were not making any money if we stayed...We also inquired about the New Years Eve menu,and were told we could only reserve a table...if we paid upfront NOW......Maybe these people need to have dinner at another byob restaurant like HB Bistro,which welcomes you with open arms,make sure you actually get to enjoy the dining experience,and would NEVER tell you to leave,because they were not making any money.....As good as the food was at Chilam Balan,we will never return...going out for dinner is about having a good time with friends...not being rushed and told to leave.....BAH.

HALO INJURY

So my husband is playing Halo this morning....when he had to go pee...so he ran to the bathroom,peed and ran back to the couch,so he would not miss killing any Aliens...however,in his hurry back to the couch,he bumped into the bathroom door...I was sitting on the couch,when I look over at Vincent...and see BLOOD gushing out of his forehead,and screamed....ran to get a sanitary pad (flight attendant thing...its what we use on the airplane when someone bleeds...they are the best for absorbing blood!) stuck a pad on my husband's head,got it disinfected,and then got a bag of frozen peas for the swelling....Here are a few pics.....

Weekend

On Saturday Vincent felt better,so we went over to Pilsen,and had a drink at Simone's bar...As soon as Vincent walked in,his eyes lit up...It is a really cool bar,made out of pinball machines and fun stuff...and no tv's or huppelkutjes...Afterwards we walked around Pilsen,and then decided to go to the Duke,and have a few drinks with Pete and KJ.....
On Sunday I felt like crap,so Vincent took care of me,and served me breakfast on the couch..what a lovely husband I have!We laid on the couch,watched movies and just had a very relaxing Sunday...

Vincent sick

Poor Vincent....He has the flu and is jetlagged...my poor man...I put him on the couch,gave him cough syrup,puddies,put on a good movie (Inception) made him a nice dinner,and put him to bed...

Hopefully he will feel better tomorrow...
