"The Drive"

We have arrived!

Just a quick post to let everybody know,we have arrived safely in our new home:NEW ORLEANS!

We drove 17hours straight,me in the UHaul truck,and poor Vincent in the Lolamobile,with 2 cats that pooped everywhere,hyperventilated and screamed for 17hours straight.We felt so bad for our boys,but we had to get them here....We now know,that our boys do not tolerate the car,or any drive,so we will never subject them to that torture ever again.

Dieudone is still quite distraught,but Alaintje is very happy in his new house,and is adjusting very well.

When we got here,Rick and Lisa were waiting for us,with a hot meal from Arnaud (the restaurant were Lisa works,and probably the most expensive restaurant in New Orleans) and a bottle of wine...we are so lucky to have them as our new boss!

Dieudone slept in my arms all night,and Alaintje came later,and the four us slept like the little baby jesus all night.......

We are finally home...

Bye bye Chicago

Today was the last day we had internet ( I am typing this from my blackberry...)
Tomorrow we get the uhaul truck,load eveything up,and off we go on our adventure!
I will try and keep an update during our journey down south!

Goodbye Party

It has been a crazy couple of weeks here in Casa Hos...with me working 86hours (craaazy,as I normally only fly about 30hours!...) but we need any extra money we can get...Vincent has been moody,having to work the last two weeks at his former place of employment,which he hated with a passion,we have been living alongside boxes and have been having people come over at all times,to look at the apartment (yes,we did finally manage to find new tenants!)

Anyway,it has been nuts here,but I am finally done flying (until at least November) Vincent said goodbye on Friday to his employers,and now we are just tying up loose ends here in Chicago.

Last night,Pete threw us a goodbye party at his house,which was lovely,with lots of our friends coming along...Pete made a wonderful gumbo,and the wine was flowing liberally...

Today we are hung over.....

Cat Litter dilemma

I have been trying to find a new cat litter,as the one we have been using is clay,and it tracks everywhere in the house,which we can not have at the B&B in New Orleans...

So I tried using crystals,which worked wonderfully for the tracking problems...but it does not clump the poop...and unfortunately Alaintje's poop is just so incredibly disgusting....that even Vincent said "no way" to the crystals....

Now I am trying "Miracle" litter,which is corn based....

I will keep you updated....so far Alaintje loves it...and Dieudone has not pooped or peed in 24hours.......

Last night,we went over to see Pete,who was dog sitting for Mohed and Susan,who were away on vacation.He had invited several people for a little dinner party.Yes,this wonderful tomato, mozzarella and basil salad was co created by my wonderful husband.....
