Going to the Saints

Vincent and Lola on their way to Mr B's Bar to watch the Saints play (and loose.....)

Bulk cooking

This is what Vincent and I do when we are not making our guests happy:
We bulk cook all of our breakfast items, put them in ziplock bags, and freeze them.
The photos show you our world famous Haitian Pan Patate Bread Pudding (made by Vincent, about 100 of them) and our Zydeco Wraps (made by Lola, about a 100 of them)

Lola and her necklace

Yesterday I decided I needed a true piece of New Orleans jewelry...I did my research, and decided I wanted a piece from Mignon Faget,a local designer in her 70's,who only uses labor from New Orleans, who proceeds 1% of her sales to rebuilding New Orleans and gives to all kinds of charities including Aids and helping people affected by the bp oil spill.
So I went to her gallery in the Garden District yesterday, and bought a beautiful heart, with the fleur de lis (the symbol of New Orleans) and with an inscription on the back which says "If ever I cease to love...2005" which she made right after Katrina.

It did cost me $450,but I worked hard in December (60 timezones, served 2400 passengers and came home to a full house at the B&B) so I think I deserve it!

Besides,Vincent loves it!

Buffa's

Here we are at Buffa's the local bar which is open 24hrs a day and serves fantastic food....

Quail Egg

So we have been super duber uber busy with xmas, new year, college football tournaments...every day we had to get up at 5am,start cooking for all of our guests, answer phones, emails, check guests in,out etc etc.....and then on top of it all,we finally get a night off,and go to our favorite restaurant.....
And Vincent eats a quail egg.....and gets salmonella....he was in bed, delirious, stuff coming out of every extremity, and all that good stuff.....poor man...
He is finally getting better...when my man asks for a glass of red wine,we all know he is on the mend!
