OUR NEW CAT STROLLER

Today we bought a cat stroller!...I know,I will probably look ridiculous when I take it outside, but since when do I care!...
I would like to take it outside, with Alaintje...but the weather is absolutely beastly at the moment,so maybe tomorrow....

Alaintje is loving it...and Dieudone just thinks she is being taken to the V.E.T.....

Lasagne

Last night,Vincent made an amazing lasagne.....

ME...

Yesterday I went to get my annual mammogram done at NorthWestern, and afterwards,I decided to walk home,as I was feeling great, and my back did not hurt.
It took me about an hour and 40mins,and the last block,I was dragging my right leg...it was so painful...
Of course Vincent called me an UILSKUIKEN,for being so stubborn, and probably injuring my back again....
I did take a Vicodin when we went to bed,and did my usual yoga this morning....
But I am still in pain....

Love

Alaintje giving daddy some love....

Hair

Last night,Vincent decided his hair in the back of his neck was getting too scraggly,so I said,"no problem,I will get some scissors"....

So I did,and cut the scraggly bits off....and this morning I decided I wanted my bangs back,so out came the scissors...again...

Peter Arylion

Last night,Vincent and I were doing the Sunday crossword puzzle and the clue for 33down was "celebrated author".
The clue for 31 across (the 1st letter of 33down ) was "voice of Bugs"....

We got nearly all the clues, except for these two.I was convinced that the celebrated author 's first name was "Peter"as it fit with all the other clues, however that meant the voice of bugs would be "mep"....and we thought(well,I thought...Vincent thought I was mad) that bugs would make "mep"noises....

Vincent had to check on "Peter Arylion"as the celebrated author,as we both had never heard of him(and we read a lot) so out come the phones, and Vincent keeps on googling Peter Arylion, and nothing came up...how celebrated of an author is this guy?...

Until we looked at the puzzle again.....and Vincent yelled out:
"NOOOOOO...its not MEP...Its MEL...and it is not Peter Arylion...but...

LITERARY LION.....

I could not stop laughing...here we are,two nitwits trying to figure out who the hell Peter Arylion is.....

You had to be there.

Back at work

I survived my first trip back at work....Worked first class on the way over, and decided to try out the economy galley on the way home...and my back actually ached less, working the economy galley....go figure...I still wish we would win the lottery,so I will never have to put on that blue disgusting polyester crap, but this will do for now....

I took it easy at the hotel, slept, watched tv and did all of my yoga exercises and devoured the wok to wok noodles I had brought back to my hotel room...got to be careful with my money,I only have 60 euros for 3 trips.....and I actually only spend 12euros on this one....

Not bad.

New Orleans...maybe?

Today,at 10am the love of my life has a phone interview with Fedex, for a sales position in....
NEW ORLEANS!.......

Its just an initial interview, and I told Vincent that as qualified as he is (and he is!) there might be a person just as qualified as him applying for the same job,who already lives in our beloved town...

We shall wait and see....if all goes well,I better start packing up the boys!

Espresso

Since Vincent (and his sister Jacqueline) are no longer able to drink black tea,due to their kidney stone affliction,I bought the love of my life an espresso machine with frother!

and this morning my love requested a cup of black tea....

Friday the 13th

Today,Friday the 13th,I am returning to work.
Of course only silly me would chose a weird date like Friday the 13th to return to the skies. Here's to hoping these crazy Al Qaeda fellows are not quite ready with their plan, to use planes as their own disposable bombs.

Of course the flight is completely packed with tiresome tourists, all wanting to go see the tulip bulbs in Amsterdam, and I am so not ready to be nice.

Oh...and my pants do not fit anymore,so I am now wearing my extra large sweater vest over the open zipper of my pants...nice.

Since I am no longer being able to tolerate alcohol, and since Vincent and I are a little low on monetary funds,I will stay in my room, watch Dutch tv and do yoga.I even bought my own little portable travel yoga mat!

Vincent is picking me up on Sunday,so yeah...already looking forward to jumping in his arms.
Wish that damn buyout will happen soon,so I will no longer have to worry about crazy people blowing up my planes, and wearing vests that are too big,so they will cover up my opened zippers...

Me

Very proud of self...Biked 20miles along the lakefront on Wednesday!
Yeah me!

Just a video I had on my blackberry

Not sure what this video is about, but I am sure it will be something silly...

Chicken in milk

The other day,Vincent made another scrumptious Jamie Oliver dish: chicken in milk.
Sounds weird, but it was the best chicken I have ever tasted...

Laundry : Video

I was doing laundry the other day,and Dieudone decided to help me...

Laundry: Photo

Cats

A few photos of our crazy boys....

Vincent's Award

Vincent has been gone for three days, gone to a conference in Bloomington-Normal (still in Illinois!) and he received his award for the business he has done for the Alliance...

When my love came back yesterday,he "proudly"showed off his award!

Thursday, May 5, 2011

Vincent wins the award!

Yeah Hooray!

Vincent found out today, that he is the winner of the Roger Lumen award!
I am not exactly sure what it entails, but he had to submit a paper he wrote on small businesses and how to export cheaper.

Me thinks....I could be wrong,as I still have no understanding of what my husband exactly does all day,but then again,he has no clue what I am doing all day!

All in all,I am very proud of my husband for being so smart.

Congratulations Liefje!

Neurosurgeon Dr JoshUA Rosenow (not the photo here under!)

Yesterday,I had my consul with the neurosurgeon,Dr Joshua Rosenow. Now,I must admit,I find neurosurgeons (male or female) absolutely fascinating...I mean these are human beings that have actually opened up a brain, poked around and touched one...Wow...fascinating.

So I will say,I was a little bit in awe of Dr Rosenow for the above reasons, but also because he was a very pleasant, intelligent and funny man.

In my opinion, you can not be any doctor,if you do not possess the sense of a humor.

Also...since his first name is Joshua, all I could think about during our talk, was the episode on "Friends" with the lovely Jennifer Aniston and her new boyfriend "JoshUA"....(if you have NO clue what I am talking about, rest assured, only diehard fans of "Friends"like Vincent would understand!)

Anyway, back to my talk with JoshUA...the neurosurgeon.
As I have not been in any pain recently, and after having tested my leg,Dr Rosenow (JoshUA) and I decided that there was no need for surgery for the time being, and I would continue doing my wonderful yoga.
I asked him, what the cause was, for the excruciating pain I experienced in February for three days, and he said it was most likely the 2cm fragment becoming loose from the herniated disc.He did say it was a big mother fucker of a fragment (ok,so he did not use those exact words...) however the GOOD news was, that the fragment detached itself completely from the disc,so it has no food/blood supply, and will eventually DIE....I knew my body would not let me down!

However,IF I experience the kind of pain I had in February or if my right leg looses strength or if I can not pee or poop anymore,he will wheel me straight in the operating room.

I must admit, having Dr JoshUA operating on me,is not that bad of a thought....Mmmmmm

So all in all, good news.I am not surprised though,as I have been feeling great recently.

The bad news is,that he had NO idea why I have suddenly become intolerant of alcohol. Both the gabapentin and lyrica have left my body weeks ago,so those are not the culprit. He told me not to worry, and try again in a couple of weeks...Easy for him to say!

Oh...and the photo of Vincent here...just thought it was cute!
